ONLi Group are working with a leading Ground Engineering contractor who have a Ground improvement division. They now require a Principal Engineering Geologist, to cover the region working mostly from site and reporting into the Leeds office when needed.
Main Purpose of Job:
1. Management of change within scope of contract(s) including Health and Safety, Operational and Commercial.
2. Day-to-day management of assigned staff and workload.
3. To mentor and develop subordinate staff.
4. Onsite and remote day to day operational control of multiple contracts focusing on delivery. This includes safety, quality, cost control, performance to programme and customer service.
Key Tasks:
1. Attend / Chair pre-contract award meetings with external Clients, Engineers and safety professionals where required.
2. Produce / review Health, Safety & Environment documentation (including Contract Phase Plans, Risk Assessments & Method Statements, Environmental Management Plans, etc.)
3. Ensure production targets are communicated to contract team.
4. Organise and plan works to ensure they are undertaken in a safe and efficient manner.
5. Procurement / hire of plant, equipment and materials. Ensure on/off hired promptly.
6. Prepare, review and submit plant and labour returns (internally and externally).
7. Prepare, review and submit HSE returns (internally and externally).
8. Working in conjunction with Management Team, ensure contracts are correctly resourced in line with budget and site requirements. Ensure efficient use of allocated resources.
9. Ensure allocated resources are aware of the contract requirements, ensure individual roles and responsibilities are briefed and undertaken correctly.
10. Undertake, direct and monitor on-site contract activities including setting out, drilling, excavations, sampling, insitu testing, installations, grouting, monitoring, surveying and reinstatement.
11. Undertake, direct, monitor and review technical output for the contract including drilling logs, engineers logs, insitu testing results, grout placement records, sample schedules, site photographs, laboratory test results and site monitoring.
12. Attend / chair contract progress meetings (internal and external).
13. Review subcontract offers against specification and site requirements.
14. Review subcontractors Health, Safety & Environment documentation (Risk assessments & Method Statements etc).
15. Monitor subcontractors' performance (safety, productivity, quality, programme).
