To provide clinical support, advice and education that ensures each individual patient receives a standard of care acceptable to the patient and within the agreed Department protocols and is delivered by appropriate skilled persons within the resources available. Promote consistency and continuity of high-quality patient focused care. Assist and support Senior Nursing Team. Supervise junior staff, engaging them in training and supporting student nurses/ care support workers to develop their skills and knowledge. Responsible for the accurate assessment of individual care needs and implementation of treatments. Work together with the management/professional development team to create your own personalised development plan with unit and individual objectives and agreed time frames. Gain the ability to act up as a shift coordinator within 2yrs of being in post in order to support when needed. To lead and engage in quality improvement projects and clinical governance within the unit. Undergo Appraisal training to help support and develop junior members of the team. Work flexibly across the Critical Care Complex.
