Main duties of the job To provide a visible lead clinical profile, having both an advisory and clinical input into patient care and staff in within the department and Trust. To work alongside the Lead Dermatology clinician in utilising clinical practice, consultation, research, and education to shape the strategic direction of the Dermatology service. To manage the Dermatology nursing team and Dermatology secretaries giving clinical leadership and oversight, being involved in the revalidation process; monitor performance with the use of appraisal and regular meetings. To act as a role model of standards of behaviour and professionalism, through commitment to the integration of policies and procedures within role and workplace, highly visible in the clinical areas. To allocate, coordinate, monitor and assess own workload, specialist nurses' workload and that of individuals or the service, ensuring resources are deployed appropriately. To ensure appropriate use of resources to meet service/clients' needs, optimise patient pathway, coordinate patient's follow-up from pending lists. To evaluate service delivery, identify gaps/areas for improvement; initiate change, work in conjunction with the Consultants and Business/Project manager to implement the changes required to improve service provision.
