This pivotal role involves providing high-quality strategic advice on financial strategies, policies, and practices, ensuring the Council meets its statutory financial requirements.As a key member of the Corporate Management Team, you will contribute to the delivery of corporate projects and initiatives, promoting excellent financial management, efficiency, and value for money. You will oversee the production of the Council’s annual budgets, Medium-Term Financial Strategy, Capital Strategy, and Treasury Management Strategy, ensuring compliance with statutory standards and effective administration of financial affairs.The council is currently making changes to their structure which will allow the finance team to become more influential on how the services are performing by adding better insights and advice to the budget holders. You will play a key role in supporting the current finance team as they transition into Finance Business Partners.What we are looking forThe ideal candidate will be a fully qualified CCAB accountant with extensive experience in leading a financial management service within a local government environment. You will possess excellent communication skills, a comprehensive understanding of financial regulations, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
