About the Role:
Cargill is currently seeking a Shift Process Technician to join their team in Hull on a temporary basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a three-person crew, operating three finishing plants — two of which are automated and one manual, requiring the lifting and stacking of 25kg product bags. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the production schedule stays on target, monitoring plant performance, and taking corrective action when needed.
Job Title: Temporary Shift Process Technician (Chemical Plant Operator)
Location: Hull, East Yorkshire
Shift Pattern: 5 Crew Shift pattern, 2 x 12hr days followed by 2 x 12hr nights
Contract: 12-month Fixed Term
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operate and monitor three finishing plants, ensuring production targets are met.
2. Proactively monitor plant equipment performance and carry out corrective actions when necessary.
3. Follow procedures to ensure smooth and safe plant operations.
Essential Requirements:
1. A team player with the ability to work independently when needed.
2. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
3. High attention to detail and ability to work flexibly.
4. Computer literacy is essential.
5. Experience working on a chemical site is advantageous.
6. Forklift truck (counterbalance) license is preferred.
7. City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 in Process Operations (or higher qualifications).
