In this role, the successful candidate will develop and implement strategies to boost energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions across the company. What will you be doing?
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development and implementation of energy management strategies and policies to reduce overall energy consumption.
* Monitor and analyse energy consumption patterns, identifying areas for improvement and recommending energy-saving initiatives.
* Collaborate with facilities management teams to implement energy-efficient technologies and practices.
* Track and report on energy usage, savings, and performance against established benchmarks.
* Develop and manage carbon reduction strategies in line with the company’s sustainability goals and our goal to achieve net zero target by 2040.
* Conduct carbon emissions assessments, including the identification of key emissions sources across operations and the supply chain.
* Track, report, and verify carbon emissions reductions and offset activities.
* Work with internal stakeholders to integrate carbon reduction initiatives into business operations.
* Ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations, standards, and best practices regarding energy use and carbon emissions.
* Prepare and submit energy and carbon-related reports to be able to assess progress against our strategic objectives and fulfil regulatory requirements
* Stay current with emerging environmental legislation, policies, and market trends.
* Collaborate with senior management to align energy and carbon goals with the broader corporate sustainability strategy.
* Lead educational initiatives to raise awareness about energy efficiency and carbon reduction across the organization.
* Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and contractors to support sustainability initiatives and enhance the company’s energy management practices.
* Analyse energy and carbon data to assess the effectiveness of existing programs and recommend improvements.
* Research and propose new technologies, renewable energy sources, and process improvements to further reduce the environmental impact.
* Lead or support sustainability-related projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with both environmental and business objectives.
What do you need?
Skills, Qualifications & Competencies
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in energy management, carbon footprint reduction, or sustainability.
* Proven track record of managing energy efficiency programs and implementing carbon reduction strategies and net zero roadmaps.
* Experience with energy management software, carbon footprint calculations, and emissions reporting.
* Strong knowledge of energy management systems, sustainability frameworks, and environmental regulations.
* Ability to analyse complex data and create actionable insights to drive energy and carbon reduction efforts.
* Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross- functional teams and engage stakeholders.
