Working full-time from our St Neots facility, the main function of the Product Development Engineer is to design, develop, and test hydraulic couplings and connectors for fluid transfer applications. This includes optimising designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability while collaborating with cross-functional global teams to support the success of the product line.
Responsibilities
* Design and analyse hydraulic quick-disconnect couplings and UQD & UDQB components for improved manufacturability and cost optimisation.
* Develop and revise global standards for product designs.
* Plan and execute projects with global teams, including creating execution schedules and supporting business cases.
* Oversee prototype manufacturing, coordinate validation testing, and conduct forensic analysis.
* Provide technical writing for global standards and respond to the needs of the commercial organisation.
* Apply engineering and Six Sigma tools such as SPC, FMEA, and DOE for problem-solving and process improvement.

Supervisory Responsibilities

* Designs and conducts experiments, and analyzes and interprets data.

* Explains complex, difficult and/or sensitive information; works to build consensus.
* Acts as a resource for other team members; may lead projects with limited risks and resource requirements.
Requirements And Preferred Skills
* 5-7 years of experience.
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
* Willingness to travel 10-20%.
* Experience in the design of hydraulic quick-disconnect couplings and UQD & UDQB components.
* Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.
* Strong problem-solving skills using engineering methodologies such as SPC, FMEA, and DOE.
* A practical, hands-on approach to product development.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with global teams and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
