With an impressive client base across the globe, you will be working with entrepreneurial start-ups and joint ventures to established independents, vertically integrated utilities, financial institutions, governments and worldwide energy giants. The firm boasts a national presence of over 150 fee earners across 8 locations across the wider Real Estate team and offers opportunities to get involved in varied and interesting work. Our client's national digital, tech, and data team is expanding. They represent an impressive array of FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 clients, public sector organisations, educational institutions, and industry bodies, handling high-profile, business-critical projects and regulatory matters. The team plays a crucial role in supporting clients' growth and success.
Our client is seeking a 3+ PQE to senior PQE lawyer to join their team.
About the role
Our Client provide expert advice on complex and high-profile technology transactions, digital transformation projects, data protection, cyber security, and emerging technologies like generative AI.
The team collaborates with developers and suppliers of innovative products and services, working closely with the commercial and national sector teams. They assist businesses in adopting and implementing digital technologies to boost productivity and competitiveness across various sectors, including advanced manufacturing, energy transition, transport, logistics, and international trade.
Team members are involved in all aspects of transactions and projects, offering guidance on contract strategy, data protection, regulatory matters, and risk management. The dynamic nature of the work offers continuous learning opportunities and the chance to celebrate new achievements. The team values diversity, collaboration, and creativity.
They also contribute to multi-jurisdictional projects, helping businesses across the UK expand into international markets, particularly in the USA and Saudi Arabia. The role includes opportunities for international secondments.
What we’re looking for
Our client is seeking a lawyer with over four years of post-qualification experience in digital, technology, and/or data protection, gained at a City or large regional firm, or in-house. Strong drafting and communication skills, along with a passion for the practice area and a commitment to delivering excellent client service, are essential.
The ideal candidate must have at least four years of experience as a qualified solicitor in the UK (England, Wales, or Scotland) within the digital technology sector. They should have demonstrated expertise in a commercial environment, particularly in digital/tech and data protection, with a focus on complex and high-profile transactions such as digital transformation projects, software licensing, IT services, data protection, cybersecurity, and new technologies like generative AI. The ability to analyse contracts and identify key issues is also required.
