About The Role
Carriages is based in the heart of Herefordshire, and is a unique restaurant experience. Our aim is to showcase the many ingredients Herefordshire has to offer. We deliver imaginative seasonal menus and offer a unique experience to all our guests.
We now have a position for a Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team in Carriages. We are looking for an enthusiastic Kitchen Porter who has a strong work ethic and a passion for maintaining kitchen standards.

This role is part-time, working Fridays and Saturdays 5pm - 11pm, 12 hours in total with the opportunity for additional hours on a Thursday as and when required.
As a Kitchen Porter, you will be doing:
1. Basic food preparation.
2. Washing up, cleaning and clearing kitchen areas.
3. Emptying bins, sweeping and mopping floors.
4. Ensuring all equipment is clean and put away correctly.
5. Deep cleaning of fridges and store rooms to maintain sanitary and kitchen safety standards.
6. Unloading and putting away any deliveries.
7. To undertake any reasonable request you are trained to do.
About The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have/be:
1. Level 1 Food Safety Award/knowledge of food hygiene practices.
2. Awareness of manual handling techniques.
3. Awareness of COSHH regulations and chemical safety.
4. Experience of kitchen equipment.
5. Experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
6. Knowledge of kitchen health & safety.
7. Proven effective communication skills and team qualities.
8. Adaptability to change and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes.
9. Ability to be organised in your work.
10. Ability to multi-task when required.
