Main duties of the job The Health Care Assistant (HCA) will work as part of the paediatric department team in the Richard Desmond Children's Eye Centre (RDCEC) under the supervision of registered nurses and will participate in the delivery of family centred care, contribute to paediatric organisation, give support to paediatric and ophthalmic nurses in the provision of a safe and caring environment to children and their families and assist with the induction, supervision and training of other HCA's. The post holder will establish and maintain good working relationships at all times with patients, families and staff of all disciplines, liaise with members of the clerical team and communicate well with all team members. The post holder is expected to order and re-stock consumables ensuring that there is sufficient quantity available for use. The candidate's shift patterns is Monday to Friday.
