About the role
Responsibility for all product merchandising in the EMEA Home & Outdoor Division (Osprey, Hydro Flask and OXO brands) through all channels.
Influence the global PLM and GTM process with relevant data and insight to capture the EMEA consumer and market needs.
Drive EMEA product assortment for all categories and sales channels, identifying existing products to build upon existing and new business opportunities.
Manage category product portfolio to optimize product efficiency to agreed KPI's.
Provide management reporting and strategic proposals for investment to drive growth and maximize profitability.
Work closely with sales, sales operations, and demand planning to ensure forecasting and pricing meet the needs of each channel of distribution.
Work closely with cross-functional teams across EMEA & Globally, in particular Product Development Teams, sales, marketing, demand/supply planning, Regulatory and finance.
Anticipated time split: Osprey 60%, Hydro Flask 20%, OXO 20%.
What you’ll do in the role
* Influence and connect with the global product/merchandising teams in the US to build and select the product line assortment to reflect European needs. Be the key point of contact/liaison with global team for all products.
* Ensure product range meets EMEA market needs, long term strategy and growth plans.
* Lead EMEA line planning process, product assortment, pricing strategy, and competitive analysis for key channels and product categories.
* Work with each brand EMEA Sales lead/regional managers in driving commercial strategies focusing on channel development, account differentiation, product/retailer segmentation, category development, and portfolio rationalization.
* Work with the European sales teams to select a line which works for their countries, driving revenue and profitability.
* Ensure seasonal merchandising principles and guidelines are effectively implemented from line planning through to sales meetings and retailer sell in.
* Work with GTM manager and sales, marketing & DTC leads to drive seasonal Go To Market product and merchandising presentations, toolkits and process that ensure sustainable growth from a product and category standpoint.
* Ensure that product information, concepts and strategies are communicated at seasonal meetings, pre-line meetings and sales meetings.
* Lead 5Y Financial planning for the H&O brands, in close collaboration with Sales & Brand marketing team leaders.
* Drive and implement a rolling 3-5 year European product strategic plan, in line with Global and EMEA strategic plans.
* Provide product leadership to the internal sales team, external sales agents and distributors.
* Assist in preparing any product-related sales tools, training or quality issues.
* Use key market trends and customer insight to provide seasonal initiatives and product positioning.
* Introduce new product families and re-fresh existing product lines or categories to help deliver revenue goals.
* Liaise with finance, demand and supply planning regarding product forecasting, inventory analysis and monitoring to optimize SKU efficiency.
What will help you do the job well
Essential:
* Business Education with 7+ years’ commercial experience in senior product and merchandising roles, preferably with sport and outdoor brands and/or houseware companies.
* Excellent knowledge of the European Retailer scene.
* Excellent planning skills are required.
* Fluent in English (spoken and written), French a plus.
