Job Responsibilities
1. To carry out pitch-side assessments and deliver acute treatment to injured players.
2. To collaborate with Academy medical staff to provide a high-level service to all players.
3. To accompany players to hospital in emergency situations and assist in appropriate medical management.
4. To provide efficient post training/fixture reports to full-time Academy Physiotherapists.
5. To liaise with coaches, parents, and players regarding their medical status.
6. To assist in educating players regarding injury prevention, injury management and recovery strategies in line with the department’s philosophy.
7. To maintain medical notes to a legally binding standard.
8. To develop a sound working knowledge of safeguarding children’s regulations, including legislation & governing body rules.
9. To undertake personal CPD as appropriate to meet the demands of the role.
10. Participate in the appraisal process.
11. Comply with all company policies/procedures. Adhere to all company regulations regarding policies, procedures, health, safety and security.
12. All other duties that may arise from time to time and fall within the scope of this position.
About The Candidate
Qualifications
* Advanced DBS Check
* Current FA Safeguarding Certificate
* BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy / Sports Therapy / Sports Rehabilitation
* Current CSP/HCPC membership or relevant sports therapy membership
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
* Able to assess injury
* Experience of planning and delivering treatment & rehabilitation of sports injuries
* Interest in paediatrics
* Previous experience of working with elite level youth athletes and treating sporting injuries
* Good understanding of growth & maturation and its implications on the development of athletes
* Experience of working in a professional football club environment
* Experience of working in a team environment
* IT skills to include a very high level of competence using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
* Excellent overall level of numeracy and literacy
* A professional ‘can do’ attitude with strong organisational and administrative skills
* A genuine team player
* Flexibility to work with children and young adults
* Empathy with young people and their challenges
