The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join Bolton Council's Licensing Team. Applications are welcome from individuals with licensing experience in a local authority arena.
You will be responsible for line management of licensing officers across the scope of Licensing Unit disciplines. The role involves delivering service plan objectives, overseeing applications, delivering policies and projects, working in partnership, providing excellent customer service, supporting officers on complex technical and legal matters, and supporting the development of existing and new staff members.
The team plays an integral role in the licensing and compliance of the taxi industry, and premises licensed for alcohol, regulated entertainment, late night refreshment, gambling, sexual entertainment, scrap metal, street trading, second hand dealers, and charity collections.
The current priorities of the team include processing applications, giving advice, providing guidance, and partnership working across the licensing regime following government legislation and local policies.
The successful candidate will be responsible for service delivery. You will be working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and demanding environment, overseeing the day-to-day management of a team of dedicated officers that are passionate to make a difference in Bolton and protect the public from harm.
About You:
You must have experience in a Local Authority relevant licensing role with a strong focus on excellent customer service and service delivery. A willingness to work in partnership is essential as this is an area Bolton Council is continuously developing to provide maximum capacity to react, respond, and be resilient as a service.
You must be passionate and driven with a desire for leadership and development.
You must hold an Institute of Licensing Professional Licensing Practitioners Qualification and possess a full current driving licence.
