About the Role As a member of the Maintenance team, you will carry out low level preventive maintenance and inspections on a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment including pumps, compressors, motors, points and buildings. In addition, you will carry out repairs to pipework, drains and track fixtures within competency. You will operate a variety of plant and equipment including cranes, forklift, track mobile, locos, train sets, wash plant and company road vehicles. Contractual hours will be Monday to Friday working an average of 38 hours a week on a rotating shift cycle including early shifts starting at 7am and back shifts finishing at 10pm. About You SPT is now seeking to recruit a Semi-Skilled worker. The successful candidate will have experience of working in a maintenance environment, preferably in the Railway/Public Transport industry. Experience of working in a highly safety critical maintenance environment is desirable, with the ability to demonstrate high levels of concentration and vigilance. You must have good verbal and written skills with the confidence to work without immediate supervision and have a driving licence. As part of the selection process, shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete an online technical assessment. Candidates meeting the agreed standard will then be invited to attend an interview and will subsequently need to pass a Safety Critical Medical examination.
