What you'll do
As the Transport & Safety Compliance Manager at Sainsbury's, you will lead the oversight and improvement of transport safety KPIs across the Sainsbury's Group and 3rd party outsourced safety relationships in the logistics division. You will manage key stakeholder relationships to create and enable the national transport safety strategy for the business, ensuring the end-to-end operation is safe and legal while managing trends and insights effectively. As the lead Transport Safety SME, you will investigate serious incidents, report transport safety statistics from a Group-wide perspective, and develop clear strategies for RTA / harm / accident reduction. Additionally, you will collaborate with senior leaders to devise robust strategies for improving safety performance and transport KPIs, translating them into reduced harm, improved accident / RTA statistics, and claim repudiation, ultimately driving success in the role.
Who you are
As a Transport & Safety Compliance Manager, you are a highly experienced safety professional with a proven track record in managing safety and transport operations in a logistics environment. Ideally with (or working towards) your DGSA qualification, NEBOSH Diploma, you possess the knowledge and skills necessary to lead the oversight and improvement of transport safety KPIs across the organisation. Your ability to communicate effectively with external regulators, challenge, and influence senior stakeholders and experience in working to OHSAS and ISO standards demonstrate your capability to lead investigations, drive performance improvements, and develop robust safety strategies that positively impact the organisation's overall safety performance and transport KPIs.
