Powertrain Mechanical Development – Air, Fuel & Exhaust

Job Purpose:
Deliver Air, Fuel and Exhaust development and validation testing in accordance with component & vehicle development plans. To robustly prove out product attribute targets. Support vehicle programme timing, cost and quality across all business projects.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* Define component and system targets with Design Team
* Create and maintain test procedure
* Create and own component, system and vehicle DVP
* Plan and execute mechanical development / performance development testing
* Responsible for supplier validation and integrity of supplier DVP
* Lead problem solving investigation that occur during development programme
* Become integral part of vehicle team to follow integration of air/ fuel and exhaust systems into the powertrain
* Work closely with build teams to ensure optimized instrumentation layout/requirements
* Work closely with virtual validation teams to guide analysis and correlation to test results
* Analysis and interpretation of physical test results to correlate simulation and validate design function
* Optimization of current test procedure and data analysis tools
* Develop close working relationships with the external partners
* Work closely with calibration team to ensure correct/reliable performance
* Support PT Systems S.E.T Team as an active member
Qualification & Experience:
* Extensive experience in hands-on powertrain testing / development roles
* Failure investigations and problem solving
* Managing and developing external engineering resource
* Driving optimization through analysis
* Close collaboration with design and simulation teams, understanding data analysis and design process
* Working across functional teams effectively to deliver viable design solutions
* Managed concern resolution
* Working within an OEM environment
* Prior demonstration of testing budget and timing management
* Italian language skills
* Industry standard dyno and vehicle validation procedures
* Astute project control including resource planning, timing, milestones, and meeting disciplines
* Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification, strong background in powertrain development
* Industry related courses – HV electrification safety awareness
