Who we are
Trelleborg Sealing Solutions is a leading global supplier of polymer-based critical sealing solutions and components for general industry, automotive, and aerospace. We are one of three Business Areas within the Trelleborg Group and have about 6,000 employees worldwide.
Reporting to the Product Engineering Manager, the Product Engineering Team Leader will be accountable for the support and development of the Product Engineers (up to 10 engineers) and their tactical output in line with agreed KPIs and working practices, as well as the maintenance and development of the Product Engineering tools and working practices. You and your team will also support the research and development of incremental and new technologies to meet the future needs of our key markets. This is a working Team Leader role, and as such, the successful candidate will need to be able to balance the group's leadership and be a contributing team member within it.
Engineering:
1. To respond to engineering enquiries within established design guidelines and agreed timescales.
2. To produce and revise manufacturing print sets to accepted standards and within agreed timescales.
3. Support and implement new product/process development opportunities per the business plan.
4. To maintain project databases and report effectively on project status and outcome.
5. To organise presentations relating to product capabilities, programs, and outcomes for internal and external customers.
6. To assist in the preparation of presentations and literature for technical training and departmental support.
7. To visit other Trelleborg entities and customers as required to support technical training, enquiries and product application.
Leadership:
1. To manage, motivate and lead a team of Product Engineers.
2. People leadership administrative tasks, including appraisals, attendance planning, 1:2:1 coaching meetings, etc.
3. Support and develop the product engineering talent within TSS.
4. Maintain a professional office and IT environment with active 5S.
5. Understand, optimise and continually seek to improve the product engineering function.
The ideal candidate
As a working team leader, the successful candidate will be degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject. The successful candidate will have experience working within engineering teams and as part of cross-functional project teams. IT proficient in CAD and Microsoft Office. Technically competent in mechanical engineering and able to balance design for function with design for manufacturing, quality and cost.

This position is based on-site at Bridgwater, with some flexible home working; overseas travel will be required. Trelleborg must ensure that anyone we’re looking to employ is legally allowed to work in the UK before their employment begins.
