Salary: £35-45k depending on experience
Our client is a leading designer and manufacturer of a range of high-end modern showers and related bathroom fittings. In this role, you will be responsible for all of the equipment and rigs in the lab (including sensors, plumbing, datalogging hardware/software), keeping it running and in calibration, as well as making any test rigs and setting up lifetests (usually using PLCs). You will also perform/support Design Verification Testing (DVT), as well as other design and development activities in support of the NPD and CPD teams.
Main Responsibilities:
1. 75% or more:
* Plumbing maintenance (including dealing with sensors/interfaces to datalogging equipment such as flow meters, temperature sensor, pressure meters, etc).
* Designing and producing test rigs.
* PLC programming (for life tests, etc).
* Maintaining datalogging equipment and software.
* Equipment calibration.
1. 25% or less:
* Support the development of in-house tests to suit varying criteria.
* Testing/evaluation of products to relevant internal and external standards as required.
* Support warranty/audit testing as required.
* Provide feedback on test results and any issues encountered, and work with other departments to offer an opinion on product suitability.
* Assist with creation and maintenance of DVT test templates.
* Assist with basic modifications/machining of prototypes in-house.
Skills & Experience:
* Relevant Engineering qualification to HND level or above.
* Proven track record in product testing and rig maintenance.
* Knowledge of PLCs and software for use in product testing.
* Practical equipment maintenance experience.
* Practical workshop experience such as machining, turning, lathe, milling, etc.
* Ability to build prototypes and test products in the lab.
* Basic understanding of 2D technical drawings.
* An affinity for engineering with a desire to understand how things work.
* Good understanding of test procedures and equipment.
* IT skills including Excel and Word.
* Plumbing skills desirable.
* Basic electrical safety and wiring skills.
* High standards on quality, responsive to teams around them.
* Effective communication skills. Ensure timely sharing of information.
