Job overview
Redbridge Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced qualified professional to step into a senior role joining a diverse and experienced team. We are a friendly and innovative team that cover the London Borough of Redbridge.
This recruitment drive comes following a recently completed consultation and redesign process, moving this well-established team to the I-Thrive model of delivery. We are excited to be delivering a new therapeutic model informed by collaborative formulations which offer the opportunity for both targeted and longer-term interventions.
NELFT is constantly looking at ways to improve and innovate our CAMHS services and is committed to providing all staff with dedicated time to participate and/or lead in service development initiatives through the Trust Quality Improvement (Qi) framework.
Main duties of the job
Working as a Senior Practitioner in Redbridge CAMHS, you would have a high standard of CAMHS knowledge and experience of working with young people who are experiencing a range of mental health presentations.
We are looking for dynamic individuals who are passionate about ensuring there are robust and informative assessments in place for young people and their families, and are committed to collaborative working across the Borough and utilizing the skills and contributions of delivery partners across Health, Education, and Social Care to ensure our young people are well looked after and are empowered to meet their potential.
As an organization, NELFT strives to deliver services within a recovery-focused and socially inclusive approach. You will ensure a high quality, timely, accessible, and evidence-based service is available to all service users who need it throughout. You will work within a diverse community, developing quality services to improve the lives of local people.
Working for our organisation
Starting with NELFT
NELFT places a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training, and the allocation of equipment.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The role of senior practitioner is to support the Service Front Door, with triaging, Initial Assessments, Duty Team, and several exciting interface activities. These practitioners will be experienced and confident mental health workers who can support wide-ranging discussions and provide clear risk assessments and formulations to improve the journey of the young people presenting to the service.
NELFT supports and encourages staff to develop professionally. In B&D CAMHS, we have a well-established, rolling multidisciplinary in-house training programme. This ensures staff are adequately supported in acquiring the appropriate skills required to deliver high quality evidence-based care and support to children, young persons, and their families while delivering meaningful outcomes for our young children, adolescents, and families/carers.
