Reporting to the Transport / Logistics Manager and based in the company's office in Bracknell, as the Route Planner / Controller you will be primarily responsible for managing routes for 20+ drivers, ensuring the most effective routes using our in-house developed software. You will ensure drivers are aware of important information such as changes in route and customer requirements. The controller will be accountable for ensuring drivers are aware of new collections and changing routes.
Job Specification - What you will be doing:
* Working as a part of a team to ensure a quality service is provided to our customers at all times.
* Liaising with drivers throughout the day to ensure smooth route planning.
* Ensuring correct weight and products are loaded.
* Organising the most effective routes, including looking for backloads to minimise "dead mileage".

The ideal person for this Route Planner / Controller role will have:
* Experience in Route Planning.
* Geographical knowledge of London and surrounding areas.
* A flexible approach and be proactive in their role.
* The ability to work under pressure and prioritise loads accordingly.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Experience in managing teams.
* 2 Positions available covering shift patterns of 0500-1400 & 1200-2100.

* Highly responsible and reliable.
* Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Calm when dealing with complaints or issues.
* Confident in directing drivers.
* Knowledgeable in safe working loads and good distribution practices.
