We are looking for a project manager or a senior project manager to drive our net zero work with local and regional authorities, as part of our strategic goal to ensure 'Power to places and people’. This is an opportunity to use your relationships, knowledge, and skills to help shape and deliver Regen’s work to support local areas to achieve their net zero goals and a just energy transition.
Regen has a head office in Exeter with office hubs in London, Dundee, and Bristol. For this role, we welcome applicants from all parts of the UK and can offer hybrid, flexible, or home working for the right candidate.
We are looking for a talented and driven person who is excited by the opportunity to develop, lead, and deliver net zero projects with local and regional authorities and with leading players in the energy system. This post will play a key role in developing our work with local and regional governments across the UK to support them to lead the net zero energy transition at a local level. This could include projects such as:
* Thought leadership work influencing policymakers to ensure local authorities have the authority, responsibilities, capability, and funding to achieve their net zero goals.
* Working with local areas to develop projects and approaches to deliver change, including net zero strategies and action plans.
* Working with local authorities and energy system actors to develop, manage, and deliver projects to ensure critical energy infrastructure in local areas is net zero ready.
* Leading and developing relationships with local authorities including through our membership – to maintain and manage our network of key local actors and stakeholders.
* Conducting analysis and report writing to share Regen's expertise on the energy transition with local audiences.
In addition, our senior project managers are responsible for driving business development, directing and quality assuring our outputs, managing programmes and people, and leading our thinking on key areas of the transition.
Skills and understanding
* Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills, able to gain respect and credibility.
* Experience in building and maintaining effective networks and relationships with stakeholders.
* Strong knowledge, interest, and enthusiasm for local authorities and their role in the energy sector and delivering net zero.
* Senior project manager should have a strong working knowledge of local authorities and existing sector relationships.
* Excellent communications, writing, and presentation skills.
* Excellent analysis and research skills, with the ability to produce well-written technical and non-technical reports.
Experience
* 3+ years experience in energy, local authorities, net zero or related fields.
* Senior project manager should have 5+ years experience in energy, local authorities, net zero or related fields.
* Educated to degree or master's level (or equivalent) with good grades in a relevant subject.
* Experienced project or programme manager with the ability to deliver and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
* Senior project manager should have experience of successfully creating new business opportunities as well as directing and assuring high quality and impactful work.

* Excellent team working with the ability to plan and organise own workload.
* Experience in managing or supporting other team members in delivering high quality work.
