Our customer is the world's second largest nuclear engineering company and a Tier 1 supplier to the UK nuclear industry, playing a leading role at Hinkley Point C and other ready-to-go projects.
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced WIC Engineer to support the Wrapping, Insulation, and Caulking scope within the prestigious Hinkley Point C project.
Responsibilities
* Engineering Deliverables: Work with stakeholders to quantify scope and understand requirements related to wrapping, insulation, and caulking, and Passive Fire Protection requirements, ensuring compliance with project specifications and EDF Nuclear New Build standards.
* Qualification and Installation: Oversee qualification and installation of Passive Fire Protection and WIC systems, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory requirements are met.
* Technical Support: Provide support throughout WIC work packages' lifecycle, from design and qualification to installation and final handover.
* Compliance and Documentation: Ensure WIC activities comply with nuclear safety standards and maintain clear engineering documentation in line with NNB procedures.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of engineering tasks.
* Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning, escalating concerns when necessary.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure WIC systems meet required quality standards through rigorous testing, validation, and inspection during qualification and installation phases.
* Support to Project Management: Work alongside Project Manager to ensure engineering tasks align with project timelines, budgets, and resource plans.
Requirements:
* Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
* Knowledge of fire regulations, including sub-surface regulations, nuclear specific codes, and RCC-F French codes.
* 3+ years of experience in engineering and installation of wrapping, insulation, and caulking systems, ideally within the nuclear or energy sectors.
* Experience in qualification processes and installation requirements for high-risk environments, such as nuclear or highly regulated industries.
* Solution-oriented individual with excellent problem-solving skills.
* Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, with ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners.
* Familiarity with NNB procedures and nuclear safety standards.

Estimated Salary:
£60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience
