MDL is a fast-growing, family-run business looking to recruit a Business Development Manager based in Omagh, Co. Tyrone. You will be a key member of the management team, directly impacting the growth plans of this fast-paced logistics business. This role suits individuals who want to make their mark and are driven by success.
THE ROLE:
1. Source new business and grow the client footprint, particularly across the UK & Ireland, but potentially beyond.
2. Identify ways of growing the business and maximizing revenue from all new and existing clients.
3. Arrange and conduct face-to-face client meetings to secure commercial agreements.
4. Prepare and present regular reports on business development activities and achievements to the Managing Director.
5. Take a proactive approach towards generating new leads and new business.
6. Engage with internal teams (e.g., Transport, Warehousing, Customer Services) to ensure a seamless level of service is offered to clients.
This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of being in the office at least three times a week.
THE PERSON:
1. A very strong Sales Manager or Business Development Manager within the Transport & Logistics sector who can proactively drive sales and be on the front foot.
2. Self-motivated and results-oriented mindset essential.
3. Use your experience and personal network to identify potential clients worth approaching on behalf of the business.
4. Able to build rapport and use expertise to provide the best solutions to clients.
5. Consistently keep in touch with old clients, new clients, and prospects to feed your future pipeline.
6. Able and willing to visit clients and hold conversations with key decision-makers.
7. Able to account manage and build relationships with customers.
8. Strong team player with exceptional time management, organizational, and communication skills.
9. Proven negotiation, decision-making, and relationship-building abilities.
