Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Emergency Department for dedicated, forward thinking and self motivated individuals to join our team of Evening & Weekend Receptionists. Two posts are available:- Post 1 - 15.5 hours per week (5pm-10pm weekdays plus one weekend 2pm-8pm) Post 2 - 13 hours per week (4pm-8pm weekdays plus one weekend 4pm-10pm) Main duties of the job We are looking to recruit an organised and methodical person with excellent communication and customer care skills. Flexibility to provide holiday and sickness cover for the Evening and Weekend Team Colleagues, often at short notice, is also an important requirement. It is a fast paced environment and you will need to demonstrate your ability to remain calm under pressure and to use your own initiative. You will be expected to book in patients who self present or who arrive by ambulance, answer telephone enquiries, obtain hospital notes, photocopying, scanning and other clerical duties as necessary. The successful candidate will have good IT and communication skills and ideally a working knowledge of the Patient Centre / Patient Administration System. As the Emergency Department runs a 24/7 service, the post holder would be expected to provide cover for Bank Holidays which fall within their shift pattern.
