What skills and experience we're looking for
RE is a thriving, successful and popular subject at Myton. It is highly valued by the school’s governors and Leadership Team as a subject that contributes significantly to the ethos and values we hold as a community as well as our students’ personal and character development. We are looking for a visionary leader to take the steps needed to bring the department forward at all key stages.
Your appointment as Head of RE will be to lead the team of specialist RE teachers. This team are committed, passionate teachers who provide an excellent RE and PSHE education to our students.
As Head of Department, you will demonstrate a passion for RE and have a deep understanding of the learning process and the current developments in education and examination requirements. Experience of teaching Philosophy and Ethics at A-level is also desirable.
As Head of RE you will also have line management responsibility for the Life Skills curriculum taught across years 7 and 8. This part of the curriculum is taught primarily by the wider humanities team.
