Join to apply for the Specialty Doctor in Orthopaedics role at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust.
Job Summary
The department is a well-functioning and cohesive unit that provides essential services to the local population consistent with its location in a District General Hospital. The hospital does not receive multiple or serious trauma cases as those are moved directly to the specialised trauma centres in the Trauma network. We see approximately 150 fracture necks of femur and the majority of our remaining trauma work comprises isolated femoral, tibial, forearm, upper arm and ankle fractures.
The department refers suspected tumours to the Unit at RNOH, Stanmore. Spinal problems with neural issues are referred to the Royal London. We work closely with our Radiology colleagues through weekly MDTs on Wednesdays (1230). The department also benefits from the services of a Care of the Elderly.
