We’re on the lookout for an organised and proactive Procurement Clerk to join our Stores team at our Neville Hill TrainCare Centre (TCC). Behind the scenes, it’s our dedicated team that keeps over 2,000 services rolling daily—and we want you to be part of that Can you see yourself: Managing Procurement and Materials: Raising purchase orders for a variety of suppliers and supporting Northern Engineering to ensure all necessary materials are sourced efficiently. Ensuring Timely Deliveries: Liaising with suppliers and internal teams to ensure orders are processed, delivered, and receipted in time to support our engineering needs. Supporting the Supply Chain: Sourcing materials and handling administrative tasks that help keep our supply chain running smoothly, always ensuring we get the best value for Northern. Driving Efficiency: Using our Inventory Management Systems (currently SAP and COUPA) to keep everything in check and support the move to Maximo, ensuring stock control processes are as efficient as possible. Are you: Detail-Oriented? Able to handle multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy in the systems and processes you manage. Exceptional organisation is key to success in this role. Tech-Savvy? Experienced with SAP, COUPA, or other inventory and procurement systems, with the adaptability to learn new tools as we transition to Maximo. A Strong Communicator? Able to work with internal teams and suppliers to ensure smooth operations, balancing autonomy with teamwork while keeping Northern Engineering's needs at the heart of everything you do. Customer-Focused? With a natural drive to keep our internal customers—Northern Engineering—satisfied with timely and efficient procurement support. Experienced? Experience in a stores or supply chain environment is a plus, but not essential. If you have the right attitude and are eager to learn, we’d love to hear from you. Previous experience in traction and rolling stock materials would be beneficial but not essential. While it’s an office-based role, you’ll also be TCC-based, which means attending a Depot Safety course to get you up to speed with our safety protocols and ensure you’re fully prepared to navigate our operational environment.
