POSITION OVERVIEW
To support the growth of AMAN, a new role has been created for someone to accelerate the procurement transformation to a more centre-led organisation to leverage a collaborative buying approach, and harness efficiencies and cost reduction. The incumbent will interface with stakeholders across AMAN both in corporate and all hotels, and work with and support our external procurement consultants, to drive procurement activity, identify opportunities to collaborate both within regions and globally, whilst improving customer service and maintaining brand integrity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for managing/influencing all direct and indirect corporate and hotel spend, balancing service, quality and cost optimisation.
2. To partner with internal stakeholders such as Hotel Operations and Finance Leadership to formulate the procurement strategy and build and execute a strategic sourcing roadmap to assist in the delivery of operational objectives.
3. Category Management: develop appropriate sourcing strategies for key categories and drive execution of these strategies in market.
4. Sourcing Management: continue to refine supplier and product approval processes, including go-to-market, negotiations, and contract management, and ensure widespread adoption and compliance to these processes across the business, deploying technology as an enabler where appropriate to support these processes.
5. Supplier management and conditioning: evaluate potential suppliers for key categories, build key supplier relationships and manage supplier performance against the requirements of the business.
6. Stakeholder management and business sponsorship: represent procurement as a function. Be familiar with sourcing strategies and supplier agreements and describing the benefits to stakeholders. Analysing business requirements and evaluating if there are potential savings/ benefits through supplier consolidation/ rationalisation or even supplier changeover. Engaging with key stakeholders to define, meet or exceed business requirements and identifying/ managing and achieving benefits targets.
7. Financial stewardship: take a proactive approach to cost management and achieve cost reduction/ benefit targets through a Total Cost of Ownership approach, Value Analysis/ Value Engineering.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. University Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or related field strongly preferred, while an MBA or an advanced degree is highly desirable.
2. Strong proficiency in English is a must.
3. Strong project management skills, understands the importance of defining and managing the critical path; brings solutions when needed to address potential delays; laser focused on achieving milestones.
4. Able to craft a clear vision and sourcing roadmap with advanced technology embedded; ability to think broadly over a long-term with a good understanding of business challenges, strategy interdependencies, and opportunities.
5. Exceptional and effective cross-functional collaborator, both internally (cross-functional business partners / stakeholders) and externally with strategic suppliers. With strong listening skills, open to objective discussion, who then moves forward with absolute commitment once recommendations and decisions are duly agreed.
6. Excellent communication and organisational skills are expected in this role, the candidate will also be interfacing and presenting to senior leadership team in a concise, well-planned, and clear manner, with the ability to articulate the financial implication and other benefits.
7. 10-15 years of strategic sourcing experience with strong knowledge of related sourcing processes, tools, systems, policies, and best practices.
8. Experience in making tactical and strategic decisions, with strong people management capacity and leadership qualities.
9. Proven track record of leading a regional/global procurement infrastructure aimed at improving sourcing processes through advanced tool selection and implementation. Ability to effectively articulate recommendations and lead the implementation plan within the set budget and project timelines.
10. Experience working with sourcing tools including Spend Analytics, Contract Management and P2P platforms.
11. Understands the importance of supplier relationship management; proven experience engaging with strategic suppliers and business stakeholders to drive / enforce a strong culture of continuous improvement and breakthrough innovations.
12. Stakeholder Management & Communication: Proactively engaging with business partners and stakeholders. Understanding their short-and-long-term needs, requirements, and effectiveness in ensuring requirements are reflected in sourcing strategies to meet both operational and strategic needs.
