We are seeking an experienced and inspirational PE and Girls Games Teacher to join our vibrant Prep and Pre-Prep departments. They should be willing to build upon their existing teaching skills, ensuring that modern, dynamic teaching methods are fully adopted to give every child the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
This is a Full Time post to begin in September 2025.

The salary awarded for the post will be based on UPS/MPS. The post includes membership of the Teachers’ Pension scheme. Specific Responsibilities
* Delivering high quality teaching ensuring all pupils move towards their potential in PE and Girls Games.
* Promoting excellence in all sports and raising the profile of sport across the school.
* Coaching games at all levels following the planning set out in the Scheme of Work to ensure the children make progress and their skills are developed.
* Taking an active part in clubs, activities and training beyond normal school hours including some weekends and evenings through the year.
* Taking an active role in weekly fixtures and competitions as well as inter-house competitions.
* Monitoring the work and tracking the progress of the children, taking appropriate action when necessary.
* Liaising with colleagues across the department to ensure the highest possible standards in PE and Games teaching.
* Maintaining accurate records of pupil participation in regular fixtures and tournaments to ensure that all pupils at the school receive the opportunity to participate.
* Monitoring and maintaining high standards of dress, kit and conduct in PE and Games.
* Building relationships with parents and communicating effectively.
* Ensuring the safety and welfare of the children at all times ensuring that all pastoral and medical needs are met.
* Supporting best practice in health and safety in respect of games and ensuring adherence to relevant guidance issued by national sporting bodies related to the safety of pupils.
* Ensuring that all relevant risk assessments are followed in respect of PE and Games.
Assistant Form Tutor (Lower School) which includes:
* Establishing a strong professional relationship with the Lower School Form Tutor and liaising with them as necessary.
* Supporting the Lower School Form Tutor with morning registration duties at key times during the term such as the week of Parents' Evenings/Assessment weeks; if the Lower School Form Tutor is absent from school; or if the Lower School Form Tutor requires some 1:1 pastoral time with a particular pupil.
* Supporting the Lower School Form Tutor, if necessary, with the Annual Class Assembly.
The Assistant Lower School Form Tutor will not have any direct pastoral responsibility within the Form, although they should make every effort to get to know the children in that Form.
Qualifications/Professional Development
* QTS or equivalent.
* Graduate of a recognised British University or international equivalent. A postgraduate qualification in education would be desirable.
* Commitment to develop as a classroom practitioner. Evidence of recent involvement in relevant professional development would be desirable.
Experience and skills
* Experience of working with and caring for primary aged children with an understanding of how to meet each child’s needs
* Experience of planning, leading and participating in activities to support the learning of children in KS2, KS1 or the EYFS
* Effective communication and listening skills
* Ability to complete administrative tasks accurately and to deliver to a deadline.
Knowledge
* Sound understanding of safeguarding principles
* Sound knowledge of early childhood development
* Knowledge of current good practice for children aged 3 – 11
* Good understanding of a variety of learning styles.
Personal attributes
* Infectious enthusiasm and passion for teaching.
* A professional manner and appearance.
* Friendly, warm personality with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively.
* Clear communication skills, both oral and written.

Interviews will take place on Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th May 2025. Shortlisted candidates will be expected to teach an observed lesson and will attend a formal interview. There will be an opportunity to tour the school.
