Environmental ASB Administration Officer – Grade E
About the role:
An opportunity has arisen to be part of a new team tackling environmental anti-social behaviour and crime in Gateshead, including fly-tipping and waste issues, littering and graffiti. The team will investigate environmental ASB, visit affected areas, identify causes, those responsible and take action.
The role will involve supporting the investigation of environmental crime and ASB, receiving reports, accessing and populating information systems to help detect the extent, place and cause of issues to aid investigation and to prevent duplication. You will support the team to develop and continually improve the method by which environmental ASB reports can be made, stored, retrieved and monitored. You will be a key contact for residents and other service users in relation to their report, provide advice and support to those affected by or those causing environmental ASB, identify support needs, make referrals and liaise with partners and other services to help resolve and prevent further problems. You will support the team by producing invoices, creating purchase orders, monitoring debt and producing reports.

You must have knowledge and experience of:
1. An understanding of what environmental crime and ASB is, and its impact on the community.
2. Knowledge of the Council’s and other agencies role in resolving ASB issues.
3. Knowledge of a Council officer’s role in Safeguarding and data protection.
4. Experience of engagement with members of the public.
5. Experience of providing excellent customer care.
6. Communicating effectively.
7. Recording and relaying accurate and relevant information in a timely manner.
8. Agile working with mobile devices such as iPads.
9. Use of IT devices and MS Office and MS Teams.
10. Experience of working under pressure, meeting targets and deadlines.
You must have the following qualifications:
1. 5 GCSE’s A - C or 9 - 4 including Maths and English or relevant demonstrable experience.
2. Willingness to undertake additional training as required.
3. Current driving licence, or means to mobility support.
