My client is a world leading organisation within the Construction industry looking to recruit an enthusiastic and ambitious Assistant Surveyor to join their amazing team! You will have good communication skills, a methodical working ethos, excellent knowledge of company business systems and will be organised, meticulous, have an eye for detail, able to demonstrate initiative and flexibility as the role involves working with both the Commercial and Contracts Teams.
Responsibilities:
* Assess risks and issues involved with contracts and commercial operations and be ready to handle unexpected situations.
* Works with Senior QS on commercial data as part of month end accounts process Maintaining deadlines in line with monthly commercial calendar.
* Assists Senior QS and works as a member of a cohesive team.
* Works efficiently and calmly with Senior QS & Construction Manager to ensure that all key contracts are effectively managed to maximise profitability - Applications for payment and compensation events.
* Looks for opportunities to grow the business, whether through partnerships or new initiatives, and works to take advantage of those opportunities.
* Maintain sustainable and productive relationships with existing clients.
* Ensure that commercial processes are adhered to across the business unit.
* Actively seek to improve processes and procedures.
* Have a good understanding of the processes and procedures used by any client that we are working with.
* Working with the Construction Manager ensure that the supply chain is engaged appropriately with the correct contract terms and conditions.
* Ensure effective interaction between the Commercial Team and the Contract Team.
* To personally participate in and help improve our operating rhythm and reporting systems.
* To liaise and fully cooperate with the Team to ensure that customers quality and service expectations are met and exceeded.
* To maintain and uphold high standards of professionalism at all times.
* Adhere to and implement our policy carrying out other duties that may be deemed suitable by the Senior QS.
* Year end audit input.
* Stock management to include inventory and inventory reconciliation.
* Support business at external meetings where necessary.
