Summary of Role Purpose:
Assistant Manager in the FS Financial Transformation Team focussed on project delivery within our insurance sector practice.
Description of the role:
In this role you will be working as part of a cross-functional team, supporting a broad range of insurance sector clients from the initial diagnosis, design, and analysis, through to end-to-end implementation of insurance sector finance transformation projects.
Role dimensions:
Management:
1. Support the delivery of a workstream/multiple workstreams of major finance transformation projects, managing a set of deliverables (and dependencies) to budget.
2. Attention to detail to ensure that deliverables are of high-quality and pitched at the right level
3. Provide coaching to more junior members of the team both on engagements and more broadly in a mentoring role
Stakeholder Interaction & challenges:
4. Support partner/director/senior manager with client stakeholder management
5. Support partner/director/senior manager on key proposition development or RFP responses.
6. Relationship building with clients at workstream delivery level.
Risk, Accountability & Governance:
7. Support risk management procedures on engagements
8. Proactively identify and escalate risks and issues (with proposed solutions) to the partner/director/senior manager of the engagement as appropriate
The Person:
Essential experience
9. A good understanding of insurance industry (Life, GI and/or London Market), key regulations and typical challenges faced by the Finance function.
10. Able to articulate the typical key processes, controls, data and systems that underpin an insurers finance operations/reporting.
11. An understanding of roles and structures in an insurer’s finance function.
12. Good broad knowledge of the Finance function and Finance operating models
13. Either:hands on experience on Finance Insurance Transformation projects such as ERP implementation, Target Operating model design, IFRS 17, Solvency II, ESG reporting either as a consultant or in industry; orexperience as an auditor of insurance companies with a strong understanding of finance systems & data, processes and controls and desire/aptitude to move into a consulting role.
