Teaching Personnel are working with an Outstanding Specialist College (Ofsted, November 2019) providing life-changing learning opportunities to young people and adults with special educational needs and/or disabilities. With eight vibrant community-based College Centres across London and Surrey, we serve over 400 students.
Job Description:
They are seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join our dynamic team. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with our Lecturing staff to facilitate educational activities for adults with special needs. Your key responsibilities include:
1. Providing individualised support to students to aid their learning process
2. Implementing therapy, health, and well-being programmes as directed
3. Ensuring correct implementation of individual learning programmes
4. Collaborating with colleagues to maintain a positive learning environment
5. Maintaining students' well-being at all times
Required Qualifications:
1. Experience in working with individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
2. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
1. Previous experience in caring or voluntary work with individuals with special needs
2. Knowledge of best practices in supporting individuals with learning disabilities
3. Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Relevant qualification in Special Education or related field
2. Additional training in areas such as therapy or special education
Working Conditions:
Full-Time position, working across multiple College Centres if required. Interacting with students with diverse needs and abilities. Collaborating closely with Lecturing staff, Nurses, and Therapists.
