We are currently looking for an Electrical Project Manager for a new onshore AC/DC converter station based in Ipswich. This is for a leading M&E subcontractor and is an ongoing position. The Electrical Project Manager is to oversee Building services projects ranging from typically £1M-£5m in commercial, educational, and public health sectors, ensuring the successful delivery of projects. The ideal Electrical Project Manager will have a strong background in managing Electrical installations for commercial projects, with a focus on quality, safety, and budget control.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee project from conception to completion with experience in both Design and Build as well as traditional.
2. Plan, coordinate, and manage installations.
3. Manage and plan commissioning & ensure satisfactory handover of project including client familiarisation.
4. Compile and produce testing, handover, and O&M documentation at completion.
5. Ensure all mechanical works are carried out in compliance with specification, drawings, and industry standards.
6. Develop project programme and record progress, delays, and disruption including capturing contract variations.
7. Ensure efficient allocation of resources and timely completion of tasks including subcontractor selections, appointments, and management.
8. Proactively manage defects or quality compliance issues.
9. Monitor project progress, identify any potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
10. Build and maintain good client, main contractor, and supply chain relationships.
11. Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth communication and project delivery.
12. Oversee and manage site teams, providing leadership and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
13. Ensure the procurement and delivery of materials, tools, and equipment in line with the project timeline including assessment of selections and issuing of technical submissions.
14. Ensure cost effectiveness during procurement of equipment and materials including building relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
15. Read and understand drawings, schematics, and specifications, undertake material take-offs, and liaise with suppliers for procurement.
16. Ensure compliance of the installation in line with drawings, specifications, and required standards.
17. Compile regular progress reports, meeting minutes, and records and issue to client and senior management.
18. Manage project costs in line with project budgets and ensure financial targets are met.
19. Ensure the project is delivered in a safe manner.
20. Ensure site teams maintain H&S documentation/records for the project and undertake regular safety inspections.
Qualifications:
1. Strong IT skills, including proficiency in project management software and MS Office.
2. Proven experience as a Building Services Project Manager, with a solid understanding of Electrical/Mechanical systems in commercial projects.
3. Relevant qualifications and experience within their designated fields.
4. Previous experience undertaking a site management role within the sector and proven track record in delivering projects.
