Job Description Skills Alliance is partnering a high growth, innovative medical device start-up in the UK. Having recently opened a state-of-the-art R&D facility in Oxford, UK, they require support from experienced specialists for upcoming projects. The role: They require a strategic buyer to manage a number of direct spend procurement projects. These can include (but not limited to): materials, components, electronics (PCB's), motors and sensors. With a new product launching and a new production site, existing market knowledge, and relationships with suppliers in this area is invaluable. An initial 6 month contract (possibility to extend to convert to permanent). £300-400 per day, inside IR35. Onsite in Oxford full-time Required Experience: Commercial experience as a strategic buyer, including tangible achievements concerning product deliverables, supplier negotiation, performance improvements, relationship management, risk mitigation and cost savings. Proven knowledge of directs, product-focused categories - materials, components, electronics (PCB's), motors, sensors etc. Prior experience working in a specialised product, medical device environment (may consider pharma / biotech).
