Business Development Manager Location: Orpington Job Type: Full-time, temporary role Rate: £200 - £250 per day We are seeking a proactive and driven Business Development Manager to join our team. Reporting directly to the Director of Employer Engagement and Innovation, this role is pivotal in driving business growth through effective engagement with both levy and non-levy organisations. The successful candidate will be instrumental in building and nurturing relationships with employers, generating sales activity, and serving as the primary contact for new initiatives. Day-to-Day of the Role: Identify and Secure Business: Actively seek out and secure business from both future and existing employers. This includes prospecting, lead generation, solution presentation, closing deals, and follow-up. Account Management: Provide comprehensive account management services, ensuring regular communication to foster ongoing business. Engagement with Curriculum Teams: Collaborate with curriculum teams to promote and encourage work placement opportunities. Lead Consultant for Large Employers: Deliver timely information, briefings, and presentations on the benefits of partnering with our organisation. Managing Small Employers: Manage small (non-levy) paying employers, ensuring end-to-end training on Digital Apprenticeship Service and recruitment needs are met. Needs Analysis and Matching Services: Conduct organisational and training needs analyses (TNA), matching employer needs with our products/services. Support Marketing Activities: Assist in marketing activities for employer engagement, including event attendance and development of promotional materials. Required Skills & Qualifications: Qualifications: Level 3 or above in a sales-related subject; Level 2 English and maths; A full driving licence and use of a car. Experience: Understanding of government-funded work-based training and commercial products in the FE sector; Experience in designing and managing targeted sales campaigns; Experience in conducting health and safety assessments in the workplace. Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to plan and manage own workload, achieve agreed targets, and evaluate outcomes; Ability to communicate effectively with existing, lapsed, and new clients; Proficiency in CRM systems.
