Long- Term Teachers are working with a fantastic independent school, first opened back in 2009 and has achieved a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating in 2020. About the role:
As an English teacher, you will be expected to plan and teach clear, high quality lessons to support pupils to make good or outstanding progress and to embed key concepts in their long term memory. You will be setting clear targets for pupils’ learning, building on prior attainment and considering each pupil as an individual.
There will be an opportunity to undertake pastoral and support roles as required and to be able to attend regular meetings to report on students progress.
All students who attend the school have specific needs, these include complex learning needs, trauma, SEMH and challenging behaviour. It is essential for you to have previous experience of working with SEND students, to ensure you are providing the highest quality of teaching possible.
Commencing in September 2024, you will be working Monday to Wednesday, with scope to potentially go to full time. Your hours of work will be 8.45 am - 4.45pm, term time only, with planning and marking included into your timetable.
Requirements/ About you:
* A QTS is not essential, however you must have GCSE English and Maths grade C or equivalent. If you do have any teaching qualifications or higher education qualifications, we would love to hear from you.
* Evidence of successful and recent teaching responsibility of English
* Understanding of Special Education
* Ability to prepare and deliver a progressive curriculum using a range of teaching styles and methodologies
* Awareness of strategies to effectively manage the behaviour of the most vulnerable and needy children and young people.
* Resilient under pressure.
* A team player, who is able to establish rapport with students, staff and parents and carers
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
