Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to lead a residential children’s home. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring exceptional care standards, creating a nurturing environment, and driving positive outcomes for young people in our care. This role requires a strong leader who is committed to upholding regulatory compliance and delivering a high-quality service at all times. The Registered Manager will be registered with Ofsted and will work in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 to meet all required standards. Key Responsibilities: Take the lead in registering with Ofsted and maintain full compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards for Children’s Homes. Ensure the home delivers a consistently high standard of care, striving to achieve an ‘outstanding’ service rating. Oversee the development and delivery of care services, ensuring the needs of the young people are met with professionalism and compassion. Build and maintain effective working relationships with young people, their families, staff, and external professionals, to provide a holistic approach to care. Lead and motivate the team, setting clear objectives and promoting a collaborative, person-centred approach to car and ensure staff are equipped with the necessary skills, training, and support to provide high-quality care. Monitor staff performance, set clear targets, and support personal and professional development through regular supervisions, appraisals, and training and manage staffing resources efficiently, ensuring adequate cover and that all shifts are appropriately staffed. Take part in the on-call rota to support staff and manage emergencies outside regular hours. Conduct regular reviews of care practices, ensuring that all policies, procedures, and statutory regulations are consistently followed. Promote an inclusive, diverse, and respectful culture, ensuring equality and diversity are embedded in all aspects of care. Champion child protection and safeguarding practices, ensuring all staff are fully trained and compliant with the organisation’s policies. Take a proactive role in the recruitment, induction, and ongoing support of staff, ensuring the team is well-supported and motivated. Respond to staff concerns, manage disciplinary matters, and provide support during challenging situations. Lead initiatives to improve the home’s overall service delivery, contributing to continuous improvement. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices to ensure the home remains compliant with all requirements. Undertake additional duties as directed by the Regional Manager to support the home’s objectives. Essential Requirements: Proven experience in a senior management role within a children’s residential setting. A strong understanding of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted requirements. A Level 4 or Level 5 Management qualification in Childcare or a related field. Demonstrable experience in managing a team and providing strong leadership. Passionate about providing high-quality care and advocating for young people. Excellent communication and organisational skills. A commitment to continuous professional development for both yourself and your team. A positive and proactive approach to problem-solving and managing change.
