Director of Operations – West London | £80,000+
This wonderful hospitality venue in West London is seeking an on site Director of Operations who can approach this like a new opening – someone ready to bring clarity, consistency, and leadership to a creative, people-focused space.
This is a rare opportunity to shape the culture and structure of a business from the inside out. With systems evolving the role calls for someone who leads with emotional intelligence and gets things done without fuss or ego.
Where you will be working:
* A beautiful, character-filled building with formal and informal dining spaces, a bar, event space, and a small selection of guest bedrooms
* A lively calendar of events, music nights, and private functions
* A team of around 70, with 40 full-time staff – many have grown up in the business and need guidance, not micromanagement
* No corporate structure or dress code – individuality is encouraged, and you’ll set your own tone
What we’re looking for:
* Someone with New Opening or turnaround experience – confident setting up structure from scratch
* Must have in depth knowledge of london and extensive experience with london clientele
* Leadership across F&B, housekeeping, facilities, and member or guest services
* Strong people manager – emotionally intelligent, a clear communicator, and able to mentor others
* Commercially sharp – confident reading a P&L, managing costs, and negotiating with suppliers
* Experience working closely with kitchen teams, reviewing menus and managing costings
* Hands-on, calm under pressure, and ready to roll up your sleeves when something breaks
* Comfortable in unpolished environments and quick to bring order without changing the spirit
* A background as a General Manager in a high-end restaurant or gastro pub, or time spent in boutique hotels or small members’ clubs, would be a strong foundation for this role
The culture: This is not a suit-and-clipboard type of job. You’ll be joining a small senior team where flexibility, personality, and commitment matter more than structure. You’ll work closely with the CEO, finance, events, and department heads. No day will look the same.
Salary: Around £80,000, with flexibility for someone who truly fits.
Availability: We’re ideally looking for someone available without a lengthy notice period, but we’ll make it work for the right person.
