We are recruiting for Volunteers at Lower Sharpham Barton Farm. Set in a stunning location near Totnes, we provide opportunities for people with learning disabilities to gain skills in land-based activities: Farming, horticulture and agriculture Woodwork and metalwork Conservation and forestry Animal care with the farm’s sheep, cows, pigs, chickens, ducks and small animals. Forest school Volunteering is a great way to contribute to your local community and is an opportunity to join a happy, passionate team delivering a quality service, in a unique and beautiful location. Not only are you helping people with learning disabilities to gain skills and build independence, but you're also improving their self-esteem and confidence. As a volunteer you would be supporting staff running sessions, undertaking a range of tasks. Some experience of farming would be an advantage as would any other practical skills such as woodwork, metal work, gardening, conservation etc. We are also looking for volunteer drivers to bring people to and from the farm.
