Staff Nurse, Ward 4, Cardiology/Endocrinology
We are excited to expand our amazing team of registered nurses. If you want a change, a challenge, or just want to be part of a dynamic, hard-working, and friendly team, then please apply for this role.
Ward 4 is a specialty ward, caring for patients with cardiology, diabetes, and endocrine conditions who require a high level of care. This advert is for extra RNs to increase the nurse staffing to ensure the ward is staffed appropriately and safely for the high level of care we provide to patients in 2 designated bays within the ward (to level 4 and 5 patients).
We want to invest in you. Your education and development are extremely important to us. We aim to send all nurses on Advanced Life Support (ALS) and support your learning and educational needs by sending you on courses in the University of South Wales.
We will be as flexible as we can with your off-duty requests as we acknowledge the need for flexible working. Having a healthy work-life balance ensures the team is happy, which in turn ensures our patients receive the safest and most efficient care.
In your first few months, we will ensure that you are trained in many skills that you will need. This includes cannulation and phlebotomy, male catheterisation, POC testing, blood transfusion and sampling, ILS, medicines management, and IV drugs administration.
Main duties of the job
The ward is committed to ensuring the best outcomes for acutely unwell patients with cardiology and endocrine conditions. This will involve the skills needed to nurse level 5 patients in designated high care bays.
A period of time will be given for you to work with your mentor in preparation for your new role, and excellent support is provided by an experienced group of ward sisters.
Please contact the team for any informal visits or information; we would love to meet you.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role. Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
