Band 7 Specialist Occupational Therapist – Mental Health

Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust provides a full range of expanding physical, mental health and learning disability services to children, young adults, adults and older adults over many sites across Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull.
We have been successful in securing funding to recruit to a fixed term/secondment Band 7 OT clinician to join our expanding multidisciplinary team to enhance our service in line with the NHS 5 year Forward View for Mental Health to achieve a CORE 24 service.
This will include facilitating initial community follow-up in line with CORE 24 objectives.
We would particularly like to hear from Occupational Therapists with a background in Adult Mental Health/Learning Disability and/or Older Adults Mental Health.
Main Duties of the Job
We are looking for a skilled, motivated and compassionate practitioner to offer a more responsive and comprehensive service for people who attend A&E or are receiving care in an acute general hospital. You will need experience working with people across a broad spectrum of mental disorders, including those who self-harm or are in mental health crisis.
Successful candidates will be joining our well-established and supportive team of experienced clinical practitioners: Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Consultant Psychiatrists, Clinical Support Workers, and a Clinical Trainer to support new staff joining the team.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
We are looking for practitioners with professional registration in allied health professionals, who possess a demonstrable level of clinical experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work as a good team player. You must be passionate and committed to delivering a service to a high standard, as well as being able to work in partnership with other teams and services including the Acute Trust hospitals.
MHLT works 365 days a year and offers a 24-hour service to the Acute Trust hospitals. The Band 7 OT post will require working Monday to Friday.

Qualifications
* Grad Dip/BSc Occupational Therapy
* HCPC Registration
* Evidence of post-graduate education
Knowledge and Skills
* Specialist Knowledge and applied skills of Models of practice (e.g. MOHO) & related assessments
* Evidence of ongoing personal development (e.g. portfolio)
* Knowledge of health and safety requirements
* Organisational Skills
Experience
* Significant post-graduate clinical experience with good basic training/post-graduate rotations (or within a community/intermediate care setting)
* Demonstrates an understanding of clinical governance in relation to Occupational Therapy
* Evidence of good generalist skills
* Evidence of staff supervision
