SRM are preparing for the commencement of a major programme of construction\nworks in Port Talbot, South Wales. The works to be undertaken will involve\nheavy construction civil engineering works across a variety of industrial\nwork fronts over the next 3 to 4 years, commencing initially with a series of\nenabling works ahead of the main programme of works commencing Q3 : 2025.\n\nIf you are a Package Manager with experience working on large multi-million-\npound multi-disciplinary projects, we have a great opportunity for you to join\nour Team in Port Talbot to work on an interesting, complex and technically\nchallenging project. This is where to achieve\nmore from your career, by proudly building Britains future heritage with us.\n\nThe Package Manager role\n\n \nAs a key member of the project team, reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will\nbe responsible for overseeing the design, coordination and management of a\nnumber of sub-contractor employed in a variety of trades within the respective\narea of works.\n\n \nThe role requires a high level of interfacing between internal departments and\nexternal agencies, such as Architects, Engineers, Construction Workers, Sub-\ncontractors, Client agents, Clerk of Works and Site Staff with the\ncoordination and management of the works contractors being of key importance\nas the project will be delivered under a Construction Management form of\ncontract (NEC 4). Ensuring SRM obligations to the client & works contractors\nare understood and discharged in line with the contract conditions.\n\n \nYoull also organise and conduct weekly site progress meetings with the works\ncontractors to monitor logistical interfaces, programme, progress, quality and\nsafety, ensuring the Chief Engineer and Project ManagerProject Director are\nupdated on all issues\n\n \n \nYour profile\n\nKey packages areas of focus will be asbestos and demotion, earthworks and\nstructure (RC Frame).\n\nIdeally you will have a degree in civil engineering, heavy construction,\nconstruction management or a construction related field\n\n * Must be a Team Player\n\n * Must be hands on and with a “can do attitude”\n * Will be site-based working as a key project team member\n * IT Proficiency a must\n * have the ability to prepare a 3 week look-ahead programme with assistance of project planner\n * have proven working experience in package management\n\n * have experience as a Temporary Works Coordinator would be an advantage \n * be knowledgeable of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards \n * have or be working working towards a construction industry related Professional membership (e.g ICE, CIOB, RICS, ICE, CIBSE, IStructE, etc) \n * Ideally located in South Wales within daily travelling distance of Port Talbot.\n\nRewards\n\nWere ready to invest in you and your future, and offer wide-ranging,\nperformance-related progression opportunities.
