Senior Specialist Occupational Therapist
Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join the Post COVID Rehabilitation Team in Central Manchester, within the Integrated Community Rehabilitation Services (ICRS).
We are looking for a candidate with a variety of experience as an Occupational Therapist, including community rehabilitation and an eagerness to develop clinical and service development skills in the field of Post COVID Rehabilitation. You will be supported by the ICRS Lead and will have excellent peer support from the other Post COVID leads across the city.
This post provides a unique opportunity to use your specialist rehabilitation skills and will involve delivering high-quality care to patients in their own homes, clinic settings, or virtually as appropriate.
The ICRS currently provides therapy across the areas of Home-Physiotherapy, Post COVID Rehabilitation Service, Falls, Orthopaedic Outreach, and Community OT. You will be leading the Post COVID Rehabilitation Service while providing support as needed across the ICRS. This therefore provides an excellent varied opportunity to use your clinical skills across different areas.
If you are an enthusiastic and well-motivated HCPC registered occupational therapist with good communication, clinical, and organisational skills, and with an interest in specialising in Post COVID Rehabilitation, this is an exciting opportunity for developing skills within a specialist area.
UK driving license and access to own vehicle are essential for the post.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for providing highly specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment for patients referred, ensuring appropriate input and pathways of care and communications via liaison and referral to other agencies as required. The post holder will particularly focus on leading Post COVID service delivery along with other ICRS services as demand rises.
The post holder will be responsible for allocated aspects of leading and developing the Service with a focus on Long COVID service to ensure delivery of a high quality, evidence-based Post COVID service across the MLCO Footprint.
The post holder will be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of their professional and clinical work, and work to agreed KPIs, national and professional standards.
The post holder will participate in continuing professional development, clinical audit, and in-service training.
The post holder will supervise and support more junior occupational therapists, assistants, and students.
The post holder will provide clinical and managerial support to MDT colleagues in the team.
Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that applicants can drive and have access to a car for business purposes.
