Security Analyst / Manchester Hybrid
Our client is a dynamic and growing insurance organisation committed to ensuring the security of information systems and safeguarding sensitive data. As part of their ongoing efforts to enhance our security posture, we are looking for a skilled Security Analyst to join the team in Manchester.
Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Security Analyst to play a key role in maintaining and strengthening our security infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in security controls, day-to-day security operations, patch management, documentation, and an understanding of ISO 27001 standards. You will work closely with various teams to ensure that security best practices are implemented and adhered to across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and monitor day-to-day security activities to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company data and systems.
2. Implement and maintain security controls, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
3. Oversee patch management processes to ensure timely application of security patches across all systems.
4. Document security processes, incidents, and improvements to maintain a robust security posture and support compliance efforts.
5. Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the ISO 27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS).
6. Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and remediation activities.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate security risks.
8. Respond to security incidents, conducting thorough investigations and ensuring corrective actions are taken.
9. Assist with security audits and ensure compliance with security standards.
Key Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Security Analyst, with a strong focus on controls, patch management, and documentation.
2. Familiarity with ISO 27001 standards and experience supporting or implementing an Information Security Management System (ISMS).
3. Knowledge of security tools, threat detection, and vulnerability management.
4. Experience with security patching processes and tools.
5. Strong documentation skills, with the ability to create clear and concise reports.
6. A proactive and analytical mindset, with attention to detail and the ability to solve complex problems.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating with various departments.
8. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) are a plus, but not essential.
