We are currently looking for a Business Analyst to support hotel related compliance functions in our corporate office located in the DTC. This position will report directly to the Manager of Accounting and work closely with both Hotel and Corporate Accounting.

Job Summary: The Sales Tax Accounting Assistant is responsible for assisting with the preparation, filing, and payment of sales taxes on a monthly and quarterly basis. This role provides direct sales tax support to hotel properties, including the collection and validation of tax-exempt certifications and applicable backup.
Essential Functions and Duties:
1. Assist with the preparation, filing, and payment of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales taxes.
2. Provide direct sales tax support to hotel properties, including the collection and validation of tax-exempt certifications and applicable backup.
3. Assist with providing required documents for tax audits.
4. Track and pay real estate and personal property taxes.
5. Monitor and facilitate business licensing renewals and permit functions across the hotel portfolio.
6. Responsible for new vendor entries in the M3 Accounting Core system.
7. Continuously look for ways to automate and streamline functions.
Required Experience, Education, and Skills:
1. Accounting experience preferred.
2. Microsoft Excel skillset required.
3. Hospitality experience preferred.
4. Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in an accounting role preferred.
5. Ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and meet strict deadlines.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
7. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
8. Must be able to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
Work Environment:
1. The role may require prolonged periods of sitting, as well as occasional standing and walking. The ability to lift and carry files and documents weighing up to 10 pounds may be necessary.
2. The work is primarily performed in an indoor office environment, with occasional visits to hotel properties for support and audits.
