This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe.
Your unique contribution
You carry out all distillery operations necessary to enable raw materials to be processed into final product and co-products of the correct quality to meet customer requirements and achieve business goals.
Candidates must be aware that the distilleries operate a rotating shift pattern covering 5 days a week, 24 hours a day and must have a valid UK driving licence.
You will have four main areas of responsibility:
* To oversee the production and distillation process, including grain transfer, milling, mashing, fermentation, wash and spirit still distillation and multiple effect evaporator systems.
* To operate a computer-based process system (SCADA) in order to produce quality distillate from raw materials and complete work in Windows based and other operating software packages.
* To take Quality Control samples and perform Quality Control tests throughout the distillation process.
* To perform fault finding analysis to optimise plant performance.
Who you’ll be working with
Internally, you’ll collaborate with other Distillery Operations Technician’s, On-Site Engineer’s, Site Management, Technical Centre team, Blending team.
Externally, you will collaborate with Contractors and Suppliers to support delivery of services to the highest standard.
