We are currently looking for enthusiastic phlebotomists to work in our very busy Phlebotomy, Anticoagulant, In Patients and Outpatients services.
Locations
The locations of our services are:
* Luton and Dunstable hospital in patient wards, adult and paediatric outpatient departments.
* Arndale house in Luton shopping mall.
* The Travel lodge, Dunstable Road, Luton.
You will be part of a developing team working in a very busy and essential area of the Bedford hospitals Trust.
Duties
Duties will include:
* Taking blood samples from outpatients and inpatients.
* Carrying out general departmental duties.
* To undertake collection of blood samples from outpatients and inpatients after suitable training and assessment of competency.
* To work on a rota system at weekends and Bank Holidays.
* To carry out routine stock taking and monitor stock levels.
* To assist in anticoagulant clinics as required.
Job Details
This is a Band 2 pro rata post working 22.5 hours per week. Hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 1:00 pm, with working Saturday/Sunday and Bank Holidays for 5 hours, on a staff rota system.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE or equivalent in Science, English, and Biology.
* Good educational background.
Experience
* Experience in working in the NHS or caring environment.
Skills and Knowledge
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to deal with the general public.
* Previous NHS or caring experience.
