Essential Requirements
Current valid driving licence, and either a recognized degree or diploma in town planning (or related subject) that allows membership of the RTPI, or a qualification which gives you eligibility to secure a place on an accredited planning course.
The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Career Grade Planning Officer within the Development Management, Planning Team. Responsibilities include managing a caseload of planning applications, such as minor developments, certificates of lawfulness, prior notifications, and pre-application enquiries, along with associated enquiries and appeals. More experienced applicants may also handle smaller major applications.
You will work with a busy and friendly development management team to deliver efficient and timely decisions. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain or further your experience within a local planning authority.

About You:
You should have the ability to work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary team, with excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, including effective negotiation skills. A positive 'can do' attitude and a desire to improve the built environment are essential.
Qualifications include either a recognized degree or diploma in town planning (or related subject) that allows RTPI membership, or a qualification enabling eligibility for an accredited planning course.
