Job overview
The Advanced Health Care Assistant (HCA) will offer nursing, phlebotomy, administrative and general clinical assistance to the Sexual Health & HIV team. The HCA will liaise closely with and report directly to the Lead Nurses for Sexual Heatlh. The HCA will work under the direct supervision of a first level registered nurse with guidelines and protocols.
Main duties of the job
Knowledge of HIV
To have an appropriate knowledge of HIV, and the treatment and management of this condition. To promote a sensitive and caring approach to patient, visitors and colleagues. To ensure communications with patients and their relatives are supportive and informative with due regard to confidentiality. Refer on to medical team any significant clinical issues
To be a part of the sexual health care team, providing high quality holistic care to clients accessing sexual health, contraceptive and reproductive healthcare services. To provide clinical and clerical support within the sexual health team
